A STORY BEHIND EVERY PIECE

_edited.jpg)

Their Hands is a fair trade shop featuring artisan-made pieces. Behind each piece is a person who created it with bare hands — and behind their hands, a story.
We work directly with artisan families to expand the distribution of their products. We celebrate their art, techniques, and cultural traditions.
MEET THE ARTISANS

“I am proud to be an artisan
and wear the pieces I create with my hands”
— María Alejandra, Zinacatlán, México.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Bernardo and Laura are good friends who met during their bachelor studies at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México. Both share a common interest towards art, culture and traditional crafts. They met admirable artisans creating beautiful pieces but lacking access to better income opportunities. Combining Laura’s background in e-commerce and Bernardo’s experience with artisan work promotion, Their Hands was born.

BEHIND THEIR HANDS
Laura Bosch is a product marketing professional and art lover. Originally from Mexico, she has lived in Amsterdam since 2017. Laura has worked in various e-commerce startups in Latin America and The Netherlands. Her vision for Their Hands is a social and sustainable enterprise that proudly promotes traditional techniques, and creates sustainable income opportunities for artisans.
Bernardo Sandoval is an arts manager and cultural promoter from Mexico. He has worked with several communities across his home country to develop social businesses. Bernardo is always looking to enable individuals and collectivities to foster their traditions and expanding their opportunities, without losing their authenticity and communitarian equilibrium.
